Works under Linux 5.x with github/brektrou/rtl8821CU driver, hope it'll be included in the mainline soon. usb_modeswitch is also required and supports this dongle out of the box. Performance is decent. The device has a blue connection/activity LED. No overheating or performance loss under long runs was detected. Comes in blister packaging that can be opened without scissors. I personally don't like the 'free driver' thing that requires additional software installed, though it may be useful in some cases.
